» Director of Ecommerce Sales and Operations
Job Description:
Responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive online marketing strategy for the Performance and Nashbar websites. Strategy must incorporate an intelligent user experience, support the brands, and drive sales. This will be a Director or Vice President level position, based on background and experience, and will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing.
Primary Responsibilities/Expectations:
He/she will be the primary business user and will perform and/or supervise all business administration roles supported in a WebSphere Commerce implementation. This includes all commerce-related job roles that are required in order to run large, high-volume e-commerce sites such as store configuration, store management, marketing, merchandising, etc. Will directly manage the execution of marketing and promotion events on the website and will insure events are executed in an effective/error-free manner.
Instrumental role in corporate website strategy and ownership of operational maintenance of the sites
Provide leadership and direction on merchandising and product positioning
Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase web site conversion rates, revenue, profitability, site traffic and reduce cart abandonment rates
Define, plan and execute social media strategies such as blogs, podcasts and other community and social networking tools
Responsible for developing keyword and SEO strategies and tactics as well as affiliate marketing
Evaluation of new web technologies for brand building and increased sales
Work with Database Marketing team to track and analyze all online advertising activities (SEO, PPC, email marketing and affiliate marketing) and provide proactive insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with design and marketing teams to create a holistic and successful user experience
Manage the development and generation of fresh online content
Be familiar with competitive sites as well as new technologies, sites and media that will influence user behavior
Requirements:
8+ years of business experience, 3+ years with successful track record leading ecommerce sales in a multi-channel retail environment
Basic knowledge of IBM Webshere Commerce, ATG or similar ecommerce architecture, business models, data models, tools and functionality
Proficiency in web site analytics and familiarity with web site analysis tools such as Coremetrics, Omniture, etc.
Strong knowledge of SEO and keyword search optimization and affiliate marketing
Able to demonstrate success converting site traffic through interactive marketing techniques
Excellent communication skills.
Detail orientation, a high degree of organization and superior time management skills along with an ability to see and attend to the “big picture”
Deep understanding of and experience with proven web project management methodologies and current best practices
